This is my day job!

This is my day job!

If you didn’t already know, I work for myself full time! It is literally the biggest adventure I have ever embarked on in my entire life! Going out on a limb and laying it all on the line. Over the past 5 years, I have invested literally every penny that I have made into creating the life I want to live!

What most people don’t know, is that I own 4 companies, 3 brands, and the one that I work the most I don’t even really post about. My main gig, the thing that truly pays the bills, is my media company called Made Custom Media. I travel over 3 months a year, filming commercials, shooting photography, and I drive to every single place! Over the past 3 years alone, I have driven through half of the lower 48 states…3 times!

My favorite thing about this job is all of the people! I most often use the excuse of traveling for business, to visit other makers, meet up with friends, and see new places! Two summers ago, my wife and I headed west and embarked on a 30 day adventure through the west! Visiting National Parks in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming and visited friends along the way and back! This would not be possible if I didn’t work for myself! The crazy thing, is that I ended up paying for the whole thing with business along the way!

Growing up, a lot of young boys want to be fireman, police officers, or dinosaurs. But I always remember wanting to be a National Geographic photographer! From the earlier point that I can remember, my dad would get a new issue of Nat Geo every single month, and I would thumb through the pages with wonder and amazement! Fast forward to today, and I have visited over a dozen national parks and had the opportunity to experience some of the most beautiful places on earth!

This weekend I leave for two weeks of filming in Sheridan, Wyoming…my favorite place ever! I always drive out because of all the equipment that I need to take with me. Plus in these crazy times, its much safer and fun to drive my own car out! It’s a little over 1600 miles, and takes me two days to get there. But the fun part is I get to visit friends along the way, and I have made a lot of friends in Sheridan!

Below is a video I made a year ago with my friend Charlie Roberts who is a Sheridan native, but used to work for CNN as an audio tech!

This week I decided it’s time that I spend more time documenting my life, and the crazy things I get to do! If anything, so that it inspires you to see that you can accomplish anything, and do anything with your life!

Do I get to work for myself full time? Yes. But the most important part of my life Is the people I get to know and encounter!
